What is MRP, exactly?
Material Requirements Planning calculates what materials you need, based on your live sales, purchase and work orders and existing stock levels. Dream MRP automates this so you're not doing it manually in a spreadsheet.
Why is Dream MRP special?
Dream MRP uses the simple inventory tracking features that are available in Xero, QuickBooks or Shopify so that you don't have to implement a new inventory control system. Dream MRP also presents information of requirements for untracked items so you can see where your business is going even if some items are not tracked. Dream MRP allows you to fully automate purchase and work orders to the extent that suits you.
How does it connect to Xero, QuickBooks or Shopify?
Xero, QuickBooks and Shopify all provide an official API for integrating to their systems; you authorise the connection in a few clicks. Dream MRP reads your inventory, contacts, purchases, and sales orders. Approved purchase orders are posted back to Xero or QuickBooks (QuickBooks this is version dependent). Completing work orders updates product inventory in all systems. Post backs do not happen if you are in read-only connection.
Is this AI?
No. Dream MRP is based on deterministic algorithms designed by engineers with decades of manufacturing experience. AI is not suitable for exact calculations. AI can be used to read the status of your factory from Dream MRP using the appropriate tools.
Can I try it for free?
14 days on the Premium plan, no credit card required. A read-only connection is available during the trial, so nothing is written to your accounts until you choose. No lock-in, no cancellation fees.
How hard is it to set up?
There is no ERP or inventory system to implement, so compared with those Dream MRP is ridiculously easy to set up. Most users are connected and running their first MRP calculation on the same day. If you are a manufacturer, you do need to have your Bills of Materials available in a spreadsheet, in column format, as you would for implementing any other system.
Do I have to replace my existing systems?
No. Dream MRP adds MRP to the tools you already use, with no ERP and no new inventory system. It uses the existing inventory tracking features in Xero, QuickBooks or Shopify for any items that are tracked. It reads from Xero, QuickBooks or Shopify and posts approved purchase orders back to Xero, and to QuickBooks depending on the version. Your existing accounting and inventory setup stays exactly as it is.
Is my live data safe?
Yes. Switch on a No Risk Read-Only connection and Dream MRP writes nothing back to your accounts: purchase orders are not posted to Xero or QuickBooks, and stock quantities in Xero, QuickBooks and Shopify are not updated at work order completion. Read-only is ideal for the trial and suits some businesses long term.
