Use case / E-commerce fulfilment

Store orders in,
production plan out.

Selling direct changes the planning problem. Demand arrives continuously in small quantities, and the store is the only place that knows about it until something runs out.

How it works

Fulfillment against e-commerce stores
in Dream MRP.

Shopify nets out the situation at your store with inventory levels, open orders, returns, damages etc. Dream MRP drives demand with this data. Use forecasting or just manually set work orders to refill as you are the one that has the feel for the market trends. Product variants map to Dream MRP items by SKU, so a sale of a finished product turns into component requirements through your bill of materials without anyone re-keying anything. Two things are needed on the Shopify side: inventory tracking switched on, and a SKU set on every variant.

Store demand is consolidated with everything else.

Store information drives demand

Store on-hand levels are read in and treated as demand. Get immediate visibility of demand from the store, and plan the builds and purchases behind it without anyone re-keying anything.

sku
Mapped by SKU

Shopify product variants match Dream MRP items on SKU. Add a bill of materials to the item and the store sale resolves into component requirements automatically.

locations
Stock per location

On-hand quantities come from the store itself, per location - Dream MRP reads them rather than holding its own. What is yours to set is the minimum stock floor for each location, and a store sync can never overwrite that.

refills
Work order completion triggers refills

Completing a work order will update the store on-hand quantities at the location you specify.

Best for: Direct-to-consumer manufacturers selling on Shopify, and anyone fulfilling store demand from stock they make rather than stock they buy in finished.
