Connect your QuickBooks Online account and Dream MRP immediately starts planning your material requirements from your live inventory and sales data.
Dream MRP relies on the order and inventory data from your connected systems so you don’t have the trouble and expense of implementing a full 3rd party inventory control system.
Dream MRP connects to QuickBooks Online via Intuit's official API. Your items, inventory levels, and sales data flow in automatically — giving Dream MRP everything it needs to calculate what to buy and what to make.
Your QuickBooks items and inventory levels sync into Dream MRP. Stock on hand is always up to date.
Open sales orders and estimates from QuickBooks Online become the demand signal that drives your material requirements calculation.
Vendors from QuickBooks are available as suppliers in Dream MRP — ready to be assigned to planned purchase orders.
Purchase orders and work orders are managed within Dream MRP. Direct posting back to QuickBooks is on the roadmap.
Build your BOMs inside Dream MRP against your QuickBooks item codes. CSV import lets you migrate a spreadsheet of components in minutes rather than typing them in.
Best for: North American manufacturers on QuickBooks Online who want structured MRP planning without switching to a full ERP system.
Everything Dream MRP needs to calculate comes out of QuickBooks automatically. Purchasing and production are then planned and managed in Dream MRP, where the bills of materials and work orders live.
Approved purchase orders can be exported from Dream MRP and entered into QuickBooks, and direct posting back is on the way.
What the connection covers
---
Items and item codes sync from QuickBooks
Sales orders and estimates drive demand
Inventory quantities net off that demand
Vendors sync as suppliers
Bills of materials, multi-level
Planned purchase orders, grouped by supplier
Work orders, scheduling and completion
Inventory tracking and purchase orders are features of the higher QuickBooks Online plans — typically Plus and Advanced. The entry-level plans do not have them at all, and which plans include what varies by country.
Dream MRP works either way. It reads whatever your plan actually exposes, and simply leaves out what is not there.
Where your plan tracks inventory and raises purchase orders, Dream MRP reads both: stock on hand nets off demand, and open purchase orders count as supply already on its way.
These plans hold no inventory or purchase orders, so there is nothing for Dream MRP to read or write. The connection still works — it plans from your items and sales instead.
On those plans the connection behaves like read-only mode: you get the full calculation and the whole plan on screen, and QuickBooks is left exactly as it was.
Plan names, and what each one includes, differ between countries. Check what your own subscription covers rather than going by the plan name alone.
Not sure which plan you are on? Connect anyway. Dream MRP reads what is available and shows you the plan it can build — nothing is written to QuickBooks either way.
QuickBooks is your accounting backbone — Dream MRP adds the manufacturing layer. Bills of Materials, multi-level assemblies, work order tracking, and planned purchase orders all work regardless of which accounting system you use.
You can also connect Shopify alongside QuickBooks to bring in e-commerce demand alongside your accounting data.
Dream MRP includes No Risk Read-Only mode — explore all your MRP calculations before Dream MRP creates a single order. Connect today, see your results immediately, go live when you're ready.
