Everything Dream MRP needs to calculate comes out of QuickBooks automatically. Purchasing and production are then planned and managed in Dream MRP, where the bills of materials and work orders live.

Where your plan has inventory features, approved purchase orders are posted back to QuickBooks and completed work orders update stock. On plans without them, approved purchase orders can be exported from Dream MRP and entered by hand.

Not every plan
carries stock.

Inventory tracking and purchase orders are features of the higher QuickBooks Online plans — typically Plus and Advanced. The entry-level plans do not have them at all, and which plans include what varies by country.

Dream MRP works either way. It reads whatever your plan actually exposes, and simply leaves out what is not there.

Where your plan tracks inventory and raises purchase orders, Dream MRP reads both: stock on hand nets off demand, and open purchase orders count as supply already on its way.

Planning without stock data

These plans hold no inventory or purchase orders, so there is nothing for Dream MRP to read or write. The connection still works — it plans from your items and sales instead.

What is posted back

Plus and above: approved purchase orders post back and completed work orders update stock. Entry plans: there is nothing to post to, so QuickBooks is left exactly as it was. Either way, a read-only connection stops all writes.
